FlightTrack 5 App Reviews

Disappointing

As an airline pilot I need accurate gate information. Often times I have to change planes to work another flight. If I have a short time between flights I like to have the gate information ahead of time. I used to know I could depend on Flighttracker for this information. However, the new format is cumbersome to use. I wish the developers would bring back the old format.

Great app and handy while traveling

Its must app if you are traveling person. It gives you up to date on your flight details.

No longer displays arrival or departure gate.

This app used to update before the airline would, and the gate information was the main advantage of this app over others. Very pretty, but also useless. My airline app gives me more info.

Not the same as the old 4.5 Pro

Can no longer sync with Tripit. Can only sign in with Expedia credentials. Just wasted $.99.

Still needs a lot of work!

Currently watching my flight on FlightTrack5. It shows it half way to the destination on the nifty moving map. Only problem is... Were still in the boarding area. The flight hasnt even boarded or left the gate and the app is telling me its already departed and half way there. Not to mention you have to open ten different links to get the information you want. Not the greatest app for an airline pilot. Use to be a great app. Now its mediocre at best. Ill be looking to replace it. FlightTrackPro was better. Hands down. FlightTrack5=Fail.

No idea what yall are complaining about

Very first flight I used this app for, the flight was delayed. FlightTrack notified me (1) before the airport or airline itself did and (2) when the delay got shortened, FlightTrack notified me AGAIN before the airport or airline itself did. (App in the Air never showed the delay.) Im not logged into Expedia or anything, FlightTrack just does a good job at what its supposed to do: keep track of your flights. Only reason this isnt a 5-star rating is because (1) the Apple Watch app crashes without ever loading, every single time (38m Watch Sport tethered to an iPhone 6), and (2) even if the app worked, the lack of a Watch complication is a big drawback.

Bring back the simple interface

As you can see, the reviews are below average on this app. Theyve done 2 major mistakes 1- usually when a developer update an app, its free for previous customers. But Mobiata want more money and they simply didnt care about previous customers. So, what they did is killed the version 4 app from the App Store and release a version 5 app as a new app. 2- second mistake is the app layout is fancy. People at the airport want something clear and simple. Apps like mobile banking apps, navigation.. Etc are apps with no room for fancy stuff. I need to get it Fast without any complications. Two apps are gone wrong in my iPhone. FlightTrack and eBay. Both of those apps have done the same mistake. If Mobiata want to keep this app, thats fine. Im sure some people will love it. But, at lease bring back the version 4. Make 2 versions and let the customers choose what they prefer. Im still using version 4 like many others. Thanks to Apple that makes previous purchases available at the App Store. Ive tried to live with version 5 (yes, Ive bought it) but I must say. I cant live with it and Im looking for replacement ..

Good app for tracking planes

So far so good, but can be better. Response time was slower than worldmate, please consider about this.

Add Trip It & iCloud Support

Otherwise, this app is worthless. Either bring back the old FlightTrack Pro or fix FlightTrack 5 to include TripIt and iCloud support. This is absurd.... :-(

3D Touch

3D Touch icon support for upcoming trips would be nice.

Reduced Functionality

I have been a loyal flight track pro users for years and love it. Upgraded to the later version thinking it was better. I like the interface but its missing the iCloud sync feature that was in the 4.x version. Having multiple devices this is a critical feature for me. Ive gone back to the previous version for now. Please let me know if the new version reaches feature parity with its predecessor. You have my dollar.

Pretty guud

Useful to track my love flying around this lovely world

A formerly great app now useless

Glad I still have the old version with TripIt on my iPhone, bc after I "upgraded" to the new version on my iPad and sent my first itinerary to the Expedia email address, as instructed, nothing showed up in FlightTrack Pro...two more tries, and nothing...not even days later, long after I was on my way to Turkey...same thing worked like a charm with TripIt and the old FlightTrack Pro on my iPhone...save your money!

Fantastic

I dont understand what people are complaining about here. The interface is great, you dont need to sign in to any service to get the full features, and the tracking is reasonably accurate. What else could you want? Ive been using it for weekly flights for a few months now and just cant live without it. Great job!

Old FlightTrack better

Ive been using the old FlightTrack for about 5 years as a flight attendant, I still have it and refuse to delete it. Its really very nice, and my coworkers always ask me where they can get it. Now I have to tell them they cant get it.. Because the new version is the only option and its over engineered and not convenient to use. All we need is information in an organized manner and get rid of the useless graphics/maps for idiots that never travel on a regular basis. Please bring back the format for traveling professionals we just need the information in an easy to read format.

Used to be Better :-(

I just found out the hard way that if you set up an iPhone as a ‘new-device’ and reinstall FlightTrack-5, all your trip info is lost. No syncing of app settings and flight info to iCloud — how very 2013 of Mobiata developers. TripIt sync was so much better than their current Expedia TripDeck option. Each itinerary emailed to the special address are imported as separate trips which can’t be merged into a single trip if applicable. You also can’t edit one of the trips to manually add the return flight and get rid of the extra ‘trip’. There’s no website like there was with TripIt where you can manage travel details which in turn sync to FlightTrack, unless you booked a flight with Expedia. Virtually no effort appears to have gone into screen design, lot’s of wasted space. It’s pretty, makes for a good demo — but in actual use it’s annoyingly frustrating when it comes to basic trip management functionality, especially when compared to earlier versions of the same app.

Awful

Just downloaded. The ONLY reason this app is worth anything (though NOT $5) is because you can get tail number information for your flight (some other apps make it harder to get that). I am at a loss as to how Mobiata (or really Expedia) allowed this app to tank so badly. The user interface is a disaster. Why cant I just look at flight status? Why do I have to create a trip to do so? The old app was far better.

This is a practical joke right??!!

Have used Flight Track Pro for years. LOVE IT!! Saw this upgrade. Bought it. Signed up for an account. WHY??!! Doesnt sync information between iPad and iPhone. Takes forever to locate information. Its harder to read on the fly. No pun intended. Seriously?!

yep

each time forwarding flight info to expedia email address only capture legs of departing flight, never the return flight no longer able to manually add individual flights to a single trip, must be entered into app as separate trip -- a reinstall of the app has it opening and functional (iphone 6, ios 8.1) companys twitter account indicates a tripit synching substitute upcoming in an update...waiting... hoping for interface to be formatted for larger devices in updates -- revision: after updating to ios 8 on an iphone 5 (and with iphone 6), the app begins to open and then crashes immediately. every time. -- old review -- it is pretty. novelty of the interface wears off quickly when you often have multiple itineraries...that you would like to sync...and cannot. it is as if you (mobiata) did not grasp that among a few other features (including live updates), the ability to sync itineraries was one that MADE this app. other than a glitzy look that newbies who know no better will salivate over, what really makes this app worth having? how is it different from the next shiny flight tracker? i do not have an answer. this redesign implies that you do not, either. this application is no longer the workhorse of traveling professionals. when function catches up with form (hint: sync), i will update this review. to others out there - save your money.

Old version better

Really disappointing. Looks slick but less info, functionality (or I cant find it), harder to use ui and you made me pay for v5 when Id paid for the older version already. If there were a way to get my money back I would.
