Guys what happened? Did you lose a bet and then had to do a cra**y "upgrade" of the app and have people pay for it? No, seriously, the new interface, seems fancy but it only complicates the main purpose of the app : view at the glance all importante information about the flights.
I hope this is just a bad joke and you already fired these apprentice developpers and designers that had these "amazing" ideas of upgrading the app to what it is now.
To be honest, there is one advantage of the upgrade and it is the widget. But you managed to mess that also, what is the point of keeping the widget dusplayed when there are no flights scheduled for the day? It add useless data to my notification center. I have serious doubts about the people that are testing the app, you cannot possible do it in real conditions with people actually using the app during travelling. Or, if you do, change the testing team, right away.
Here are some, non exhaustive, elements that are a conplete downgrade and lost functionnalities compared to the previous version (thag I keep using):
- no icloud sync, I will not comment on that, but this is jusg ridiculous nowadays and mostly because the previous version has it
- calendar events contain a link with the flight info. I will telle you this is useless, actually you dont always have internet access to load the link. In the previous version, the calendar event contained the major flight data, such as departure and arrival time, as well as flight number. So imagine me calling my wife from the cab on road to the airport, and she asks me what time do I lend, well previously I got that in a short look on my calendar, now, I have to wait for the link to load, and if there is now internet connexion at the moment, oops. Think of people travelling internaionally, they do not always have internet access. Focus on real travellers, expand you testing scope to people that actually use the app, not to the one supposed to guess how the app must be used.
- Already told yoy about the interface, so I will not enter in any more details
- Notifications contain much less information about the flight compared to the previous version. Hooray, you have added the fancy "weels up" and "weels down" phrases, but hey, nobody cares, people prefer to see the details about the flight they are actually notified of.
To finish, I am also sending this to you by email, as suggestions. I am also keen to help you improve the app, for free, and I am available to be part of the beta testing, as I am using the app since day one, I would be really sad if nothing changes and I have to move to another solution.
Thanks
